I think we should follow one of the leads, either Urborg or Amonkhet. Who would have it out for Ral? Alek, you got any names?" Maris looked over his shoulder at the mage. Take a look." Maris tossed a bolt to Alek, and began looking at the machine, trying to determine what kind of magic damaged it.Īlek grabs them and looks at them. "So obviously these come from the stolen objects, but they were manipulated magically. The bolts are from things that currently aren't here. Maris picked up the bolts, examining them. Under one of the tables, twisted bolts light up. The pen becomes more noticeable, as does project lightning bug. While he was doing that, Zirilit slowly moved over to the cake near the broken shards of plate. Maris began casting about for anything else that stuck out, determined to find anything helpful. Zirilit sniffs the stuff on the wall, and recoils. "Maybe I should just let the little fellow work." Maris said, watching Zirilit with an unidentifiable expression. Zirilit flew over to the fresh blood on the wall.
but it's different from the fresh blood on the wall. "What's this, now?"Īfter letting out an indignant roar (which sounds like a bird squawk) Zirilit motioned towards the "blood" on the shards. Zirilit swooped down and landed next to the shards. All the missing inventions were taken with care. They don't smell like blood either, though. Some of the shards from the plate on the ground are bloody. Under the table, there is the pouch of gold that Zirilit gave to Ral. There are large splashes of blood on the walls. Zirilit perched on a beam up overhead and looked down to see if they could see anything else. I think I'll keep on reading this and see if something interesting comes up. We were in the middle of some more looking when you got here." The small giant stomps off and goes back to checking under tables. "I kind of looked around, but I'm not good at this. "Is there anything else of note? Have any of you even thought to examine the scene?" Maris crossed his arms, tossing the journal to Alek for safekeeping. Zirilit flew up to the top of the room and looked down. I don't even want to think about that."īolas himself obviously wasn't here. "Now I understand why he was so stressed and tired. Planeshifting technology is dangerous, too. "If Ral has anything to do with him, we're likely in a lot of trouble. His ego makes Niv look like a selfless saint and he's powerful enough to destroy worlds." Maris said, agitated and clearly very worried. "Bolas is a dragon whose name I keep hearing. You can assume that Bolas is involved somehow, but he doesn't have this journal, or know of it, otherwise it wouldn't be here. There are a few mentions of Bolas in the journal, but more importantly, there are tons of notes on planeshifting technology. Zirilit recoiled from the paper and sneezed, letting out a puff of smoke. "Fucking.Dammit." Maris punched the nearest wall. Zirilit comes out of hiding to sniff at the scrap of burnt paper. There are two words on it in Ral's handwriting: Nicol Bolas. It's not from the journal, but someone put it there. a form of shorthand, that you can't read.Īs you flip, a scrap of burnt paper falls out of the bookmarked page. There are other notes, written in a language. There's no readable mention of personal information.
I didn't even search for them" Alek puts his hands in his face. Has anyone found any sort of reference to ownership?" Maris asked, flipping through pages. As you read on, in certain spots, some names crop up multiple times. You can tell this book isn't referring to anything in present Urborg. The artificer was apparently being hunted by these "Gladehunters". The first few pages mention situations in Urborg. The journal is certainly made of Urborgian materials and is entirely hand crafted.

"The pen is also from where the journal is from and he had mentioned trying to go back to try and learn how to repair it but that it was dangerous." It's mostly artifice things, but those two words are. May I look at the journal?" Maris held out his hand expectantly.Īlek gives it to him "It's at the beginning. Do the words "Urborgian Gladehunter" ring a bell?" "And we've found this journal and a pen that matches with it. "Also, its last two readings were one to Amonkhet and one unknown" I laid a clever ruse on him so that my party would go uninterrupted." "Well, Ral's missing, PLB is broken beyond repair and I can't find any prints" Alek sighs and shakes his head
What do we know, exactly?" Maris quickly took stock of the scene. We're trying to find out exactly that" says Alek, raising his head from the book.
